Armor Of God !!!

Dear Members,
Greetings from all of us...
The Josephites apart from creating niche for themselves in all the fields and careers have predominantly outshined choosing to serve for the nation by joining the Armed Forces.
The only motivation is to serve our country and the price a soldier is ready to pay is laying down his own life...
A soldier we all know has no fears of ultimate sacrifice and we have over the period seen soldier being martyred for the honour of country protecting us from both external and internal enemies.
We all have shed tears and given our condolences but not been able to save even single life... A soldier who not only may be a Josephite but a Son, a father, a husband or a friend being an entire world for someone...
We have pondered, discussed and deliberated to find an away where we can join hands and work our best to save the precious lives of our heroes..
.
The Managing Committee while contemplating hit upon facts that our security personnel are not provided head, neck, side of chest and groin protection as matter of routine if provided 60% of deaths could be avoided.
23% of deaths occur due to wound to head, 17% to the neck ( Study done by Brig Arora and Col Bhatia of Indian Army) Similar figures were found in Iraq of American casualties . Indicating, IED of Snipers.
27% deaths are due to wound to side of chest and another 19% are due to bullet injury to abdomen and groin. Therefore roughly 60 % deaths are preventable.
During 9/11 attack , the Mumbai ATS Chief Mr. Hemant Karkare, Kamte and others were " killed " within 30 minutes. The inquiry was set up, but nothing substantive came out.
The Home Secretary of Maharashtra, Mr Jain made a statement that the bullet resistant vests supplied were not meant to stop an AK47 bullet...
The causality rate of our security personal in Kashmir and Naxal area is unacceptable. All due to non availability of body armour.
India is short by 5 lakh vests for the Army, and if we take the CAP (central Armed Police--- ITBP, CRPF, SSB, RR, BSF, the numbers are staggering)
We discussed this matter with many General Officers from time to time, and a lot of them were of the opinion that the body armour is too costly. And what irked us the most was the statement that Government provides adequate compensation to the family of deceased.
Yes, we do not deny the importance of compensation but can monetary benefit compensate a young man who leaves behind a new born baby, children, a young wife or elderly parents. Our young are not expendable commodity.
Searching further we learnt that Even USA is short of more than 5 million bullet resistant vests for its law enforcement agencies (US Army is being outfitted at a tremendous pace).
American Society has found ways to help out, by forming charities, to provide body armour and help to fallen officers (killed on duty police officers).
One such Initiative was by a police officer, called, “Officer Down" which started in America in 90s, and now has chapters in Canada, Europe Australia and New Zealand. This charity provides help to family of fallen officer and body Armour to serving officers.
Similarly, in State of South Carolina, the Governor, strapped for funds started a charity called “In-Vest" and provide Armour to law enforcement in State of South Carolina.
The church also runs a charity called “Armour of God" and provides body Armour to law enforcement. The US Federal Government runs a program called “BVP" Bullet Resistant Vest Partnership program, wherein Federal grant is given to states for body Armour on certification by police chiefs that all his officers wear bullet resistant vest (the vests need replacement every 5 years).
This was s sequel to a recommendation after a World Police Chiefs Conference, which made the, Mandatory wear, policy (concealed vest for plain clothes officers and over the uniform for officers in uniform.) They reduced deaths by 4000 in one year alone.

Chest seals to the best of our knowledge are not provided to our combat units.
We all know how many CRPF Jawans have sacrificed their lives in Naxal Areas and nothing substantive has been done to bring down casualties down.
Dr. Kuldeep Datta (Cardiologist) a Manorite has joined our hands worked hard to gain the necessary information and to launch an initiative by commencing a "Charity" for our soldiers, to save the precious lives by providing them a protective gear consisting of:
 Bullet Resistant Helmets
 Neck Protection Vests
 Side of chest protection
 Groin protection.
ALL OUR FELLOW JOSEPHITES ARE REQUESTED TO JOIN OUR HANDS TO SAVE VALUABLE LIVES OF OUR SOLDIERS.
Once operational we will apply “Charity” for 100% Tax exemption.
Please send us your inputs, your views and suggestions to help us in creating this “Charity” and fighting a silent war with the enemies of our nation.
Jai Hind
