CELEBRATING 84 GLORIOUS YEARS OF ST. JOSEPH’S ACADEMY
The 84th Annual day celebrations on 18th November 2017 at our Alma mater St. Joseph’s Academy saw life and energy being propelled exponentially…
Lt Gen RP Singh AVSM VSM illustrious Josephite batch of 1978, presided over the function.
He was presented bouquets by Managing Committee SJA Alumni Association and escorted by other senior Alumni members and school council members. He was given a warm reception by the Principal Brother Babu Vargehse , Brother Superior Arokiya Raj, Vice Principal Brother Binoi , Brother Tommy Principal St. George’s School and Brother Solomon Principal St. Patrick Academy along with SJA coordinators Sumeet Gupta, Suhani Sabharwal, Anuradha Tandon and Moon Hassan … the euphoria in the eyes of General on reaching the school campus so unmistakable… Before moving on to arena Chief Guest was offered High Tea at Brother’s residence.
The programme began with the introduction of Chief Guest by the Head Boy and Head Girl, thereafter Principal Brother Babu Varghese presented bouquets.
The programme commenced with the classical dance mesmerizing the audience. Junior school students performed musical "Alibaba and Forty Thieves" a story of greed and compassion from the Arabian Nights, the audience were enthralled by a colourful and marvellously directed dance drama, It is simply astounding to comprehend the efforts teachers invest in to generate such an amazing performance from the Junior students, we all take a bow for the Teachers and students...
But what stole the show was grand musical “The Rising” depicting the First War of Independence "The Revolt of 1857" entire cast simply admirable cunning Colonel George Carmichael and Major James Hewson , Torch bearers of the mutiny Bhadhur Shah Zafar, Nana Sahib, Rani of Jhansi, Tantia Tope but the most riveting performance which drew an unceasing applause was the 'Mangal Pande” the student enacting kept everyone engaged by his mannerism, gestures and stylishness and was simply fascinating… breathing life in the role of “Mangal Pande” giving cent percent to his character. All we can say is, “A star is born”.
The flawless acting and graceful dancing on the songs like ’Hindustan Hamara Hai’ ‘Ghar Kitne Dur Hai’ of the musical mesmerized the audience and convey the importance of freedom, patriotism and nationalism, awakening everyone’s feelings towards our motherland.
After the presentation ended Chief Guest addressed the students he was simply captivating and congratulated the students, Teachers and Reverend Brother Babu Varghese for their untiring efforts for putting up such a Grand show and remarking that the Students in their discipline were as good as the armed forces, encouraging the students to actively take part in such events as it led to development of their overall personality.
To culminate the celebrations Principal thanked Chief Guest, and rightly asked Students to understand the sacrifices of countrymen who laid their lives to gain the precious freedom. He went on to thank Senior Coordinators Mr.S.Gupta , Dr. Suhani Saberwal,Middle School Coordinator Mrs.A.Tandon and Junior School coordinator Mrs.S.Hasan, Mrs.A.Mishra, Mrs.S.Sridhar, Mrs.D.Nautiyal, Mrs.L.Sharma, Mrs.S.Tiwari, Mrs.B.Negi , Mr.S.Dass, Mrs.Coleen and Mr.P.Bhandari who worked for almost one month to present the extravaganza which mesmerised each and everyone. A special mention and congratulations were bestowed upon the School Choreographer Mr. Dev who breathes life in the all such shows organised by our Alma Mater.
On the conclusion of event Chief Guest was escorted to Archive/ Alumni Room by MC Members along with Principal Brother Babu Vargehse , Brother Superior Arokiya Raj, Vice Principal Brother Binoi , Brother Tommy Principal St. George’s School and Brother Solomon Principal St. Patrick Academy SJA Alumni Associations thanked Lt Gen RP Singh for being at his Alma Mater and inspiring the children.
The vote of thanks was given by Head boy of the school Savinay Sharma and Head Girl of the school Muskaan Gupta with a special mention of SJA AA. The programme concluded with the School Song. The comperes of the show were Malvika Dangwal, Prasana Ojha, Ayesha Khan, Ashok Bhatt and Tushita Sadhu.
The SJA AA Managing Committee members Praveen Chandhok President, Navneet Oberai Vice President, Jatinder Bhatia Secretary, Deepak Bakshi Treasurer, Dr. Alok Jain, Sachin Agarwal, Mohit Rajvanshi, Sonali Mehta and Abhinav Goel grace the occasion along with founder President Ajay Goyal, Former Vice President Ambuj Oberai, Former Secretary Tirupati Juneja, Kapil Anand , Harshit Gupta and other relished each and every moment.
Congratulations the Teachers, staff, students and management and kudos to our Patron Principal Brother Babu Varghese for organising such a wonderful and grand evening and special thanks for his love and support to SJA AA and for acknowledging SJA AA contribution and honouring the President....
