Election Notification for Elections of SJA Alumni Association for the term 2019-2021

I, Randhir K. Arora, as President of SJA Alumni Association, 12 Rajpur Road, Dehradun, hereby notify the following to all members of the Association: -

 

As per the Memorandum of Association, Rules and Regulations and Bye-laws framed, the following are Notified:-

 

  1. That the date of Elections for the Managing Committee for the term 2019-2021 is on 21st December 2019.

  1. The Last date for FILING of nominations is 20th October 2019.

 

  1. The Last date for WITHDRAWAL of nomination/candidature is 29th October 2019.

 

  1. The last date for Request of e ballot by mail/email is 14th December 2019 for those members who due to personal exigencies may exercise the said option.

 

  1. As per the decision of the Management Committee Mr. Rajeev Nangia 1965 batch has been appointed as the Chief Returning Officer for the elections scheduled in December 2019. The Election Committee shall comprise of Chief Returning Officer along with Mr. Anurag Sangal, F.C.A 1974 batch, Mr. Ravi Maheshwari, F.C.A., 1986 batch.

Miscellaneous

 

In terms of the EGM held on 10th September 2019, the postal ballot system will be replaced by the e-ballot system on the recommendations of the Committee formed specifically for this purpose.

 

As per the Bye-Laws of the Association, only those Josephites can contest who is a bonafide member of the Alumni Association for a minimum period of One (1) year  prior to the date of elections for the post of MC Member; Whereas for posts of President, VPs, Secretary and Treasurer every candidate should be a bonafide member of the Alumni Association for a minimum period of Two (2) years.

 

Qualification Criteria for December 2019 Elections shall be as under: -

(to be calculated from year of passing of ISC or equivalent exam)

Minimum tenure as MC member Member stationed at

Vice President (Local) 10 years One Dehradun
Vice President (Out Station) 10 years One Any where

Treasurer 10 years One Dehradun
MC Members 10 years for four (4) senior members and 3 years for the balance three (3) members Nil Any where

 

The Election Bye-laws and Sequence of Events and Forms for the Elections are available on the website www.sjaalumni.com

 

The prescribed forms for Nominations, withdrawal of candidature and request for postal ballot are available with the Election Committee and can also be downloaded from the website www.sjaalumni.com.

Note: Only the requests made and received on proper prescribed forms shall be entertained.

You are also requested to update your postal address, telephone numbers, email ID’s available with the Alumni office at the earliest.

 

To be eligible for voting, members are requested to ensure that all their dues are clear.

 

Members are also requested to carry their Membership cards for identity. However those members who are yet to receive their Membership cards may carry any other valid photo ID with them.

 

I call upon all members of the Association to elect the Managing Committee as per the procedures laid down in Election Bye Laws. For all purposes Election Bye Laws and Sequence of Events form part and parcel of this notification.
