Reunion New Delhi – 13th May 2017
Each day tend to fade away with either families or careers with visits becoming fewer and calls becoming texts with less and less frequency...
The newly formed Delhi Chapter Council of SJA Alumni Association to alleviate bonds among Josephite community organised its first alumni reunion dinner on 13th May 2017, at Hotel African Avenue, Greater Kailash-I, New Delhi.
The event was a sparkling affair the enthusiasm among senior alumni was a pleasant surprise, The council members of Delhi Chapter and MC members from Dehradun had arrived at the venue quite early to overlook the arrangements and they all welcomed guests warmly. A sense of special occasion emerged, as the gathering opened to elegant evening of interaction and interface...
As the evening warmed up Kalpana Pande Coordinator Delhi Chapter asked the guests to introduce themselves, this got the ball rolling, from the senior most members(Batch of 1952) to the junior most members(Batch of 2011) each took turn to talk about themselves and their Alma Mater...
The senior Alumni Mr. Rathke (1952 Batch) was among first one to reach sharing nostalgic moments and relieving those wonderful moments he spent at his Alma Mater when there only few hundred students in the entire campus.
“I know several people from different decades,” K.R. Bhagat (Batch of 1960) said. “It’s nice whenever you go see people you haven’t seen in a long time.” Thanking the President and Managing Committee along with Delhi Chapter Council for their exceptional effort.
The words which echoed by all those who were present was the principles, ethics and morals inculcated by the Principals and teachers of SJA helped them in creating a niche in their respective fields bringing glory to Alma Mater, gathering of youngster and Senior from varied fields was the tripping point of the evening.
Joy Jain Treasurer Delhi Chapter said the event is to also help us remember and cherish the glorious history St. Joseph’s Academy which commenced in the year 1934.
“It is a cool situation,” Said Raman Bhatia (Batch of 1968) Former out station Vice President and the Mentor of Delhi Chapter “It is something we would eventually like to organise on regular basis. For Josephite in general as a school, our alumni are a resource we can dip into because we are one of the oldest institution with a large resourceful Alumni covering not only the length and breadth of the country but the entire globe! We should make it a point and raise a platform to give back to our Alma Mater and see each other in a lot of cases.” He too thanked President and Managing Committee along with Delhi Chapter Council and assured them his full support for creating many more wonderful events.
Dr. G.S. Kochar renowned Urologist AIIMS Batch of 1970 who was accompanied by his effervescent better half was simply unassuming and got a smile on the faces of all those present his better half not to be left behind carry forward the humour bringing glee to the entire gathering...
Master of the ceremonies debonair Dilpreet Singh Grover Secretary Delhi Chapter Council was jubilant in seeing the senior Alumni enjoying the evening and sharing their anecdotes with younger Josephites, his better half accompanied him to witness the results of his untiring hard work over the past month...
We dedicate the evening to our dear Alumni Harsh Kulshrestha who came with his family to grace the occasion; the valiant soldier showed the true spirits of a Josephite which has earned him many laurels serving the armed forces. Thank you for being there Harsh!
The handsome Pranav Khanna Member Delhi Chapter Council took lot of pains in preparing the profiles of Alumni attending the event which was displayed on screen throughout the event he too spoke his heart out requesting all to join hands to take association to its zenith.
In the end President Praveen Chandhok who was accompanied by Navneet Oberoi Vice President, Jatinder Bhatia Secretary and Randhir Arora former President thanked the entire gathering, informing them the work this renowned association has carried since its inception and humbly requested all those present to donate toward the benevolent fund which shall help the association in funding the needy Alumni Children and students for their education and also gave away mementos to the esteemed guests.
All alumni present cherished the opportunity to catch up with younger and older Jospehites and to make new connections. The festive atmosphere that enveloped the evening carried on long into the night, even after the official gala wrapped up.

Our very SPECIAL THANKS to M.S. Dhillon, Brigadier Anil Harnal, Valentine Nihjawan, Ravinder Rawat, Manmohan Marwah and Sanjeev Chabbra whose presence raised the spirits of all those who took pains to organise the reunion we all hope that they will continue to support and guide association to new horizons... We shall remain obliged.
At the last not to forget our dear Robinder Sachdev who was the guiding spirit helping Delhi Chapter Council Members at each step in organizing the event supporting Morally, Physically and Financially...
We all thank Mr. Manoj Pande for not only providing the whole hearted support to his beloved wife Kalpana Pande but also gracing the occasion and motivating all of us to achieve the set targets and setting new ones...
And all those who missed the occasion we look forward to your presence in the near future...
