Our Alma Mater, St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun celebrated its Annual Sports Day on 19th November 2016, in its vast sports ground with great zeal and fervour. The sports meet was declared opened by our illustrious Alumni serving Air Marshall RD Mathur AVSM, VSM who was accompanied by his better half Mrs. Shipra Mathur gracing the occasion. Chief Guest hosted the flag. Our Long Time Partner “Bansal Classes”was once again in the fore front supporting the event…

It was a grave moment for all of us when the family of martyred Soldier Lt. Col. Rajesh Gulati Alumni Batch of 1993 visited our office. All of us including Brother Dennis Joseph felt short of words to express the grief… We all were saddened but simultaneously it also inspired us to achieve more and to make this world a better place so that the sacrifice of soldiers is not wasted…

“Alumni Sports Meet 2016” held on 31st October 2016 a great day of sport and social fun at our Alma Mater campus… Bright and sundrenched morning of 31st October witnessed the “Alumni Sports Meet 2016” playing with the old teammates, reliving the memories, competing against each other once again, and winning Medals in 6 different sports tournaments across campus.

A day simply not to be missed! Commencing at 8.00 am at the SJA Tennis Court, Big Field, Basket Ball Court, and culminating at Auditorium with some stunning badminton matches, breathtaking shots

St. Joseph’s Academy organised a “Short Marathon” on 15th October, 2016 in line to the school calendar. This is mainly to encourage mass participation and to instill values of promoting good health amongst students, teachers and community.

At 5.45 AM Principal Brother Dennis Joseph flagged off the race students were briefed all formalities required to be fulfilled like getting tickets at check posts and returning the same on completion of race, not to follow short cut routes and to be mindful of their safety measures.
A total of 1857 students took part

Pre-registration is mandatory for all the events therefore you are requested to please send in your entries as soon as possible and provide us ample time to organise scheduled events… you will agree that it’s a huge responsibility to arrange entire events in a single day… in spite of constraint we shall put in our best efforts to not only arrange the meet but also provide you both breakfast and lunch so that Alumni’s can participate

The SJA Alumni Association in coordination with the Sri Mahant Indresh Hospital (Blood Bank) Dehradun, Press Partner “Amar Ujala Foundation” and “Garhwal Post” (Satish Sharma organised “Voluntary Blood Donation Camp” at the School Auditorium on 2nd October 2016. As Harish SIngh Ji Editor Amar Ujala stated the importance of such camps is to create awareness among people to come forward, donate blood and contribute in whatever little way we can to save 3 lives by donating one bottle. Josephite Navtej Sarna (born 1957) has been appointed as an Indian Ambassador at USA!

He is a famous Punjabi author-columnist, (awarded coveted Literature Academy Award), diplomat, and former Indian Ambassador to Israel. He is currently the Indian High Commissioner to the UK.

Born in Jalandhar (Punjab), India to noted writer in Punjabi, Mohinder Singh Sarna, his sister Jaskiran Chopra resident of Doon is also a famous writer and journalist.

He did his schooling from St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun batch of 1973 (ISC) Graduated from Sri Ram College of Commerce.
