Wg Cdr Vikrant Uniyal ascent of Mount Everest (on 21 May 2022) stands not only as a remarkable feat of human endurance but also as a powerful catalyst for inspiring generations to come. By unfurling the national flag and singing the anthem at the peak, he didn't just conquer a summit; he symbolically elevated the spirit of his nation and its people, in the 75th year of Indian Independence. Vikrant's journey transcends mere adventure; it becomes a potent narrative of courage, patriotism, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Through his audacious endeavor, he has not only etched his name in the annals of mountaineering history but has also ignited a flame of inspiration in the hearts of countless youths, urging them to dream big and reach for the highest peaks, both figuratively and literally. Josephites residing in Mumbai have a special bond among themselves. They are constantly in touch and had been meeting at least twice a year to relive the school days and catch up with the latest developments in their lives ever since the first alumni dinner was held way back in 2011. However, COVID stalled this activity, and it took 3 years for everyone to regroup. When the proposal for the next meet was floated in the Whatsapp group, it was met with great excitement. Batchmates, seniors, and juniors, who had been meeting regularly and become like huge families, had not seen each other in 3 years. The date was fixed for 14th April, and the location was kept at a central place considering everyone’s convenience. Dr. Sanjay Gupta (ISC 88 batch) and Mr. Dhawal Desai (Cambridge 1972 batch) initiated the thought, which was put into action mode by Gautam Chaturvedi (ISC 1989 batch). Surbhi Arora (ISC 1987 batch) was prompt in securing the venue and getting a fantastic deal with separate enclosures, a variety of starters, drinks, and a sumptuous buffet. People started trickling in around 7.30, and by 8.30, the party was in full swing. There were quite a few attending the alumni dinner for the first time, but immediately felt at home. Dhaval Sir, the senior-most attendee, proposed that the group meet every 4 months and apart from just meeting for drinks and food, add a pro-active agenda to the activity where people with experience in their fields

This invigorating escape from the city's bustle provided the perfect opportunity for alumni members to reconnect with nature and each other.
